Baycrew's Co. Ltd.

Ms. Satomi Kanazawa

The Baycrew's Group is one of the largest clothing and accessories retailers in Japan.

Founded in 1977, this Japanese conglomerate manages some of the top Japanese brands including Journal Standard, Spic & Span, Jena, and Edifice.  They incorporated our system relatively early on and continue to use it for gathering traffic data at flagship and concept stores.

Over one hundred stores

We currently measure traffic at more than one hundred stores within Baycrew's Group.

Even a retail expert, like Ms. Kanazawa, was impressed by some of the data Flow's system measures. For instance, she was surprised to see that the number of customers at a new store was higher than expected and the purchasing ratio lower than expected. She could then offer accurate advice and concentrate her efforts on specific areas of improvement.

It is an accepted fact that new stores may take longer to reach their peak performance, but we believe that Flow's innovative system can expedite that process.

Flow offers more insight than the traditional retail model and will continue to strive to offer a fuller customer profile.

Application of Data

Though she has an extensive amount of responsibilities, her main goal is to increase sales.

Ms. Kanazawa believes that increasing the conversion rate will lead to reaching the brand's daily and profit goals much quicker: she begins her week by checking these figures and keeps these figures as attends her daily activities.

Ms. Kanazawa also closely monitors traffic and pack ratio (sales points/transactions) in addition to the conversion rate of each store.  By doing so, she feels she has a holistic and specific understanding of the brand's position within the retail industry.

Customized Data

Ms. Kanazawa remarked that the report site's store dashboard is clear and easy to understand for even the busiest of staff members because of its use of graphs and visual representation of retail data.

According to Ms. Kanazawa, while store managers and staff members may need to check their numbers daily, top management and business division directors analyze with a bigger picture in mind.   The division director uses executive dashboards* to compare the brand's stores over a certain period of time to see the overall performance.

Flow's system accommodates the needs of different departments and positions.

*This is a dashboard for browsing all store data. Performance comparison by store/area/brand is possible.

Further promoting data utilization

In the future, Ms. Kanazawa would like to further promote the usage of data activation within the company through Flow's system.  One concern she shared was the variety of data usage since Baycrew's has numerous brands under their wing and each brand has its own.

Flow Solutions will continue to provide opportunities and workshops to learn to use our system for all levels of staff.
